Ghosts In Snow by Kerin Cunningham
Awhile ago a snapshot of this piece from my Instagram was thrown up here, but here’s what the final piece ended up looking like. This prompt was ‘obsession’, both of mine with Captain America and everyone’s favorite tommy-gun toting sidekick, but further Bucky’s in trying to remember his past after his loss of memory as the Winter Soldier. What’s so poignant about these characters, for me, is the fact that they’re strewn together across time but always manage to find their way back to stand side by side again. Basically, a feels explosion free with every issue.

like ghosts in snow: winter soldier. illustration by kerin cunningham

this is mine! just a quick take from instagram. so nice to see it getting so many notes, even if it’s just a snapshot of the piece. the prompt for this one was “obsession”— so this became a piece with dual meaning, both about my personal obsession with captain america and bucky (my favorite comic duo for a multitude of reasons) and the obsession of memories, in both trying to recall them and relive them.

update!

hello friends!

thank you all for following me. you’re infinitely sweet to do so. for those of you who are actually interested in my work, i’m sorry there hasn’t been any updates! the semester has started up again, which is both yay and nay; yay for new art! nay for not having time to upload any of it!

i think, in the upcoming future, i will mostly utilize this as a sketch blog. these days i tend to take quick shots of my work in progress and upload to everybody’s favorite app, instagram, so i might just forward some of those here.

here’s to new art and new friends.

cheers babydeers,

kerin

A month or so ago I was lucky enough to be asked to contribute to Jordan Rosenberg’s Ghost PokeZine with some incredible illustrators that I am humbled to even be amongst. Even luckier was that Haunter was still up for grabs— he’s my favorite ghost poke! The zine should be out in the next month or so and I highly recommend picking up a copy!
